The recorded archive is free and always will be. ## About the teacher Sri Swami Jyotirmayananda was born February 3, 1931, in Bihar, India. In 1953 he was initiated into the order of Sanyasa by Sri Swami Sivananda (founder of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh). In 1962 he founded his first ashram, Sanatan Dharma Mandir, in Puerto Rico. In 1969 he established the Yoga Research Foundation in Miami, Florida. Today, at 95, he continues to teach. He is a teacher of Integral Yoga and Vedanta, known for practical, plainly-taught commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Vasistha, the Upanishads, and the practice of meditation. ## What YRF offers - A free archive of recorded lectures on Vedanta, Yoga philosophy, and the great scriptures of India — kept open to anyone, no account or payment required. - Books and a long-running magazine (International Yoga Guide). - A free introductory guide for the anxious mind, and a "First Week with Swamiji" starting path for newcomers. ## Key pages - [Start Here](https://www.yogaresearchfoundation.org/start-here.html): a guided first week — one welcome and seven short teachings, chosen by hand. - [The Teachings (archive)](https://www.yogaresearchfoundation.org/teachings-archive.html): the recorded collection.
