The lecture hall on the recordings is a real room. The door is open.
Since 1969 the Foundation's ashram has stood in South Miami — the same hall where most of the archive was recorded. It is a quiet place, not a retreat business. Visitors are welcome, and nothing is charged at the door.

Where the archive was made — and is still being made.
Nearly everything in the Foundation's collection — the twelve thousand hours, the 17,690 recorded lectures — was given in this hall, to whoever came that day. The room was never a studio. The recordings exist because the classes did.
Swami Jyotirmayananda, at ninety-five, continues to teach here daily, and the community gathers on Saturdays to sit in meditation. Visiting the ashram is not a tour of where something happened; it is walking into the thing itself, still happening.
There is nothing to buy in order to attend. Come to a class, sit, and leave when it ends — that is the whole transaction.
- Call or write ahead. 305-666-2006 or info@yogaresearchfoundation.org — say you are coming for the first time, and you will be told what meets that week and when to arrive.
- Come a few minutes early. The class begins when it begins; arriving before it does spares you a late entrance and gives you a moment to settle.
- Sit anywhere. Newcomers are welcome and never singled out. Dress comfortably and modestly; nothing special is required.
- Nothing is owed. There is no fee and no expectation. If a class raises questions, someone will be glad to answer them afterward.
